Recruiting Postdocs(Ⅱ)

  Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) was established in 2018, which is briefly named Guangzhou Marine Laboratory (GML). GML is a provincial scientific research institution initiated by Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government,  and it is jointly formed by the South China Sea Eco-Environmental Engineering Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey, in collaboration with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Southern University of Science and Technology (SUST). In particular, the aim of laboratory construction is to cultivate and establish a "reserve team" for a national laboratory .

Prof DanLing Tang, Ph.D

  Group leader in GML, Director of Guangdong Key Lab of Ocean Remote sensing,China, (The South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences). She is an expert on ocean remote sensing and remote sensing of marine ecology, has published approximately 150 papers in international journals, and both books “Remote Sensing of the Changing Oceans” and “Typhoon Impact and Crisis Management” in Springer. Dr. Tang has serviced for scientific communities, such as the President of the Pan Ocean Remote Sensing Association (PORSEC), the President of PACON International, Councilor of AGU, and Vice Chair of A2 Commission, Committee on Space Research (COASPAR), her scientific achievements has been repeatedly highlighted in the ICSU journal “Space Research Today”.

  Professor Tang’s group is recruiting Postdocs with PhD degree in Remote Sensing Science, Marine Environmental Ecology, Marine Sedimentology, or a related field.

Desired skills and experience

Research Areas:

·Remote Sensing Science (Coral Reef Remote Sensing, Ocean color, SST);

·Marine Environmental Ecology (Remote Sensing of Red Tides (HAB),Algae Blooms, primary production);

·Marine Sedimentology;

·Air-sea Interactions and Environmental Changes (Marine Ecological Effects of Typhoon Wind Pumps).

Qualifications:

·PhD degree in related research fields above;

·Strong ability to conduct high-quality independent research;

·Within three years of PhD graduation;

·Under 35 years old.

About the employer

Salary and Benefits:

·Annual salary: Approximately annual salary ¥260,000 RMB depending on candidate’s level of experience and competence.

·The candidates can apply for settling-in allowance ¥600,000 RMB to applicants who received Ph.D from a University with TOP 200 rank World Ranking.
